Courtney graduated from Winthrop University with a B. S. degree in Integrated Marketing Communications.

She has served as a high school youth associate for young girls at a local church. Courtney was also employed as Marketing Associate for Goodwill Industries.

She is now director of the Piedmont Area of South Carolina for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
